With some of the most prestigious wine-growing regions, the Monbazillac Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) was among the very first to be established, in 1936. It governs, by decree, the rigorous production conditions. In 2012, the Monbazillac Sélection de Grains Nobles appellation was introduced, which we favor. In modern times, Monbazillac rested on its dusty laurels for too long. But at the turn of the 1990s, a collective awakening allowed the appellation to be rebuilt on solid foundations of quality. After centuries of turbulent history, many highs and some dark periods, Monbazillac is now regaining its former glory.
